I receive quit a number of threats, pictures of references to violence, and I had to sit down and take the time to understand that when I set out to do good work for the young men that are born to this earth that evil will rear up its ugly head and hiss at me. I want to say however I have finally found something that is worth living and dying for. Who ever is a person who benefits from teaching young kids criminality, as a personality, and as a lifestyle.  Hello, my name is Kevin Payne and I am a 47 year old African American male born in the great state of Tennessee. My passion is writing and speaking and I have a zeal for fostering the lives of young men who might be considered at risk. This is because I to was an at risk youth. At 25 years old I shot a sheriff deputy. I went to prison for nearly 11 years. I have been out of prison for 10 years. Now 21 years later I have something to say to the young men of color that is in the at risk category. Instead of focusing on all the could have been and should have been I decided to focus on the actual realities of my life and pay them forward.
